In additon to members having their own garden to tend we've planted a community area in our garden for those who would like to come and help out when they can. The harvest from the 2010 garden will be donated to the Missoula Food Bank and the Poverello Center in Missoula.

What are the Benefits of a Community Garden?

Many families living in Milltown area would like to grow some of their own vegetables, herbs, and flowers but simply don't have the space to do so. For others gardening is a relaxing way to exercise & enjoy the outdoors. Those who participate in community gardening contribute to the preservation of open space, provide access to it, and create sustainable uses of the space. Community gardens help bring neighbors closer together, while beautifying our city. They can also promote environmental awareness and provide community education.

Like any other newly formed non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers to help us with an unlimited amount of tasks from harvesting to fundraising to working the land, we hope you will consider getting involved.

"Always leave the earth better than you found it."
